• August 24th 2025 Wyvern Fun Day:  Come and join us down at The Wyvern CIC in Taunton, at the Wyvern fun day. We will have a stand set up where people of all ages can have a go at field archery, and find out more about this brilliant sport and our club. We'll have some of our 3D targets set up, with all archery equipment provided, for anyone to try their hand, and see how fun field archery is.

• July 2025 Changing of the Guard : After 11 and 10 years respectively JJ and Andy have decided to step down from the Chair and Secretary roles at the club, while remaining as members. The new chair is Dave Hoppins and new Secretary is Rory Proctor. 

• 2025-2026  Membership: The new WFA membership year is about to start 1st April 2025. We welcome renewals, re-joins and new members [experienced and new archers]. Requests for training and membership can be made to the club. Details on the Joining Us page. 

• 2025 shoots: We will only be running 1 open shoot this year on October 5th as the woods need to go through woodlands management early in the year.  Entry form is now on the Downloads page.

Our landlord will carry out woodlands management spring-thru-summer and we are unsure of what part of the woods will be available when. Therefore, for access, safety and "art of the possible in the timeframe remaining course laying" reasons we will not be having our traditional spring shoot. 

Our club will remain open [visitors welcome on request] but with reduced access and targets [and increased work parties!!!!].  

The positive angle is this will allow us to set a brand new course for October probably going back into parts of the woods we have not been in for a few years. Hope to see people then.

• Sept 2024: 

  •  September shoot: We are nearly ready for our September 8th 2024 shoot. Course layout completed. Final bosses and targets in. Just the monotonous gardening and some tape and pegs to do. We are on the original woods for all 36 targets this year. 

  • Access to Woods: We are now back to just our original woods. We no longer have access to the woods across the road. Some of you liked the terrain but others will be thrilled the challenge is flatter from now. 

  • Training Courses: Have been extended until end of September and good weather following into October due to the high interest from people wishing to train and join. 

• Feb 2024: 

  • Shoots Announced. This year we are going to have open shoots on 28th April 2024 and 8th September2024. Entry form [the same form for each or both shoots] is on the downloads page.

  • Training Courses to start early this year starting on the first week in March. Details on the Joining Page. 

• Dec 2023: New Membership year for WFA now inline with NFAS membership year 1st April to 31st March. New 2024-25 Membership details available Joining US page.

• Feb 2023: Shoots Announced. This year we are going to have open shoots on 16th April 2023 and 8th October 2023. We will also be one of the clubs for the Wessex Week - see the NFAS site for more details. 

• Feb 2023: Training To Start. We are opening training and memberships for new members early this year starting on the first week in March. Details on the Joining Page. Membership year starts 1st April. 

• Aug 2022: Details for October shoot ready. Scores for June Shoot on shoots page. 

• May 2022: Apologies for late details for our shoot. We have had a few problems with our site and a few problems with our admin [CoviD is still here]!! 

• Oct 2021:  We have completed our last shoot of the year on 10th October 2021. Thank you all who attended. The shoot report and scores are now published on the Completed Shoots Page. 

• Sept 2021: We have now confirmed final details for our shoot on 10th October 2021. Entry form on the downloads page or email us or contact the secretary. Payments in advance by BACS [preferred] or cheque. It will be a rolling start with scoring, medals and full catering. We will be setting up 2 brand new courses incorporating new land. 

• June 2021: We have now confirmed final details for our shoot on 25th July. Entry form on the downloads page or email us or contact the secretary. We have now restarted training courses and are taking on new members. 

• May 2021: Just a week to go to the WFA May 9th 2021 shoot. All the time slot and group assignments went out today. If you think you have entered and not got a reply then contact the secretary. For group bookings the details went back to the person who sent in the booking. And if you are interested there are still some slots. 

• April 2021: WFA will be holding a shoot on 9th May 2021 open to all NFAS members - government plan/rules for covid allowing. Entry form [with details] on our downloads page. 

• March 2021: The club is back open to members and NFAS guest visitors from 30th March 2021. We are also accepting new members who are existing NFAS members, however, training for new archers will not be starting until 21st June 2021 in line with the government lines on return to normal.
